Something Silly

Today we took a short hike on Silly Mountain, a park in nearby Apache Junction. It really is a silly little mountain, compared to many others around.

Such as nearby Superstition Mountain (I think).

The trails on the mountain aren't just a stroll through the park. It is hiking, but not to remote areas, and the scenery isn't spectacular. The trails are easy to slightly-moderate, rocky trails. We did about 2 1/2 miles. We saw a number of dying Saguaro.

Rocky hillsides.

Surrounding homes and a golf course.

It appeared the local fire department was practicing with their aerial ladder and water hose.

We drive by Silly Mountain fairly often and have talked to others about hiking there. Looking at the parking lot, we know the area is popular. Today we saw a good number of people on the trails. We are glad we checked out the mountain, but we probably won't hike there again.
