Hiking Monolith Gardens

On our last day in Kingman we found a hiking trail in the nearby Cerbat mountain range.  We went about 3 miles out and back and enjoyed the scenery.

I imagine that outcropping in the center of this photo is the monolith giving the name to the Monolith Gardens trail.

We saw a number of flowering plants along the way, many the same we had seen a month or so earlier in Gold Canyon.  Kingman is about 1,000 feet higher than our resort.

These are poppies.

Flowering prickly pear cactus and some plant with small white flowers.

Another cactus surrounded by white flowers.

More prickly pear.

Yellow sunflower-like blossoms.

We had never seen a plant that looks like this.  Anyone know what it is?
