Stopping in Williams

Monday we pulled out of Superstition Views for our summer travels.

Heading north we saw the top of Mount Humphrey near Flagstaff.  There was a small amount of snow still showing.

Our destination was Williams for 2 nights.  This is the train station in town.  Williams is where the Grand Canyon Railroad picks up passengers for a day trip the  national park.  We have ridden the train on a past visit here.

The train is usually pulled by a diesel engine but they still fire up the steam engine every day.

Williams is along I-40, also known as Route 66 in Arizona.  At the Rte. 66 museum wwe saw these old gas pumps and gas wagon.

This is the cute mailbox at our RV park.  The front end opens to insert and remove the mail.

As we were walking around town, I spotted a sign on the front of a shop saying they sold chocolate and carmen magnum bars. I fell in love with this treat the year we took a canal boat in Sweden. Guess what I had for lunch that day.
